NATIONAL BOOK RELEASE EVENT – “Getting America Back to Work”
In honor of International Workers’ Day on Saturday, May 1, the Midtown Scholar will be hosting from 4-6 pm the first bookstore signing of Getting America Back to Work by Stewart Acuff, formerly the AFL-CIO’s Director of Organizing and now Chief of Staff to the President of the Utility Workers of America.

URBAN ISSUES FORUM, SUNDAY MAY 2, 8-10 PM
The TOUCH 95.3 in association with a state-wide coalition of black clergy and the Interdenominational Ministers Conference of Greater Harrisburg will host an “Urban Issues Forum” at the Midtown Scholar on Sunday May 2 from 8-10 pm (Doors open at 7). Senatorial candidate Joe Sestak and Gubernatorial candidates Dan Onorato, Jack Wagner, Anthony Williams, and Joe Hoeffel have confirmed their attendance. The candidates will discuss how they intend to address the Covenant with Black America ten topic areas. Please note seating is limited, so it is best to arrive early at this free event.
