As we proceed through 2016, we must plan for 2017 and the need to fill existing and expected voids in leadership and volunteer positions. Manages Friends of Midtown’s budget, handles deposits, pays expenses, and creates monthly treasury reports. This is a Board position and requires monthly Board meeting attendance. [tentatively filled]
Records minutes at Friends of Midtown Board meetings, so this is a Board position and requires monthly meeting attendance. [tentatively filled]
Runs monthly committee meetings and organizes community service projects, including community cleanups, MLK Day of Service, and planting and maintenance of flower barrels. Representation of Friends of Midtown with Clean & Green Harrisburg preferred, but not required. This could be one or two Board positions and requires monthly Board meeting attendance. Looking to fill two positions: one to complete small graphic design projects, including advertisements, posters, and event flyers, on a monthly schedule. The other would maintain our social media presence on Facebook and Twitter and update our Web site. One is a Board position requiring monthly meeting attendance. The other requires coordination with the Communications cochairs, but presently does not require meetings. Which of these two positions is a Board position and which is a Committee position does not matter. [filled]
Runs monthly committee meetings and organizes fun events, including the Outdoor Film Series partnership with Midtown Cinema, National Night Out, Halloween Haunted House, and Santa in Midtown. One position definitely open, with a second potentially. This is a Board position and requires monthly Board meeting attendance. [filled]
Maintains membership database, issues welcome packets to new members and new homeowners, notifies members of lapsed memberships. This is a Board position and requires monthly Board meeting attendance, but certain tasks may be delegated to a Committee volunteer, so non-Board volunteers are also welcome. [filled]
This ad hoc committee is looking for up to fifteen interested individuals from broad economic, geographical, and racial demographics: homeowners, renters, non-resident property owners, business owners. and nonprofit representatives. The purpose of this committee is to explore the idea of creating a Midtown Improvement District, as has been proposed in different incarnations in the past. Minimum of two or three hours expected per month.
