Last summer, Friends of Midtown worked with the Midtown Cinema to bring a series of six free outdoor films to Midtown. Thousands of neighbors and visitors took advantage of this offer, which was made possible only through the generous sponsorship of several individuals and businesses.
Now we’re working to bring it back. From June through August, neighbors may view a mix of such classics and family-friendly films as Grease (singalong), Guardians of the Galaxy, Godzilla vs. Megalon (featuring Down in Front! comedy riffing), Back to the Future, Hook, and The Goonies.
The entire project will cost about $6500, but we won’t charge admission to the events,so we sought sponsors to offset the expected costs.
So far, we’ve raised or received pledges for $6642:
$1000 from the Auchincloss Family Fund of the Foundation for Enhancing Communities
$1000 from the Form Foundation Fund of the Foundation for Enhancing Communitys on behalf of Seward and Debra Ryan
$500 from the Carter Family Fund of the Foundation for Enhancing Communities
$500 from Yellow Bird Cafe
$500 from Aangan Express
$500 from Friends of Patty Kim
$500 from Ted’s Bar & Grill Midtown
$500 from GK Visual
$500 from WCI Partners
$500 from TheBurg
$47 in small-bill donations
Any additional donations we receive will improve this year’s event, cover unexpected costs, or be saved for next year’s event.
